J.D. , a retired United States Air Force weather forecaster, worked several years as a solar astronomer in the Space Weather Program. He has been a cooperative weather observer for the National Weather Service since 1985. The weather station, located in J.D.'s backyard in Monticello, Kentucky, is a Davis Weather Monitor II. Current weather observations are uploaded using Weather View 32 Software. The temperature and precipitation readings reported by this site at 7:00 A.M. are the official readings taken for use by the National Weather Service. The 7:00 A.M. update will also include current sky condition and weather. This is a non-commercial station and the information is provided as a public service only. If you need an official weather report, listen to NOAA Weather Radio or contact the nearest National Weather Service station. Weather reports date back to January 1, 1936 for the Monticello area. The climatological reports were acquired from the National Weather Service for use with Weather View 32 Software. |
